THIRD ANNUAL MEETING
SHAWNEE INN AND GOLF RESORT
Friday, September 12-Sunday, September 14

By all accounts the Third Annual Meeting of the Tillinghast Association, in honoring the Golf Collectors Worldwide, was a resounding success. Tillie and Golf Collector Society members came from as far as Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, California, England and Scotland for the big event.

We were joined by the U.S. and European Hickory golf teams representing the British Golf Collectors Sociey and the Society of Hickory golfers. The meeting featured both Hickory Golf competition as well as one for modern implements. Scratch and handicap medals were awarded for men and women in both competitions.

On Friday evening, Charlie Kirkwood, owner of the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort hosted a wonderful coctail reception on the Terrace.

A Collectibles Trade Fair was held the following afternoon after golf and some fine golf antiques were on display for some light trading. Later that evening, all enjoyed a tasty dinner buffet followed by presentation on golf course architecture and awards to the days winners. The weekend came to a close with a good time had by all and commitments to meet again next year.
