The first issue of The Golf Course was in January 1916. It was a monthly that was published by Peterson, Sinclaire & Miller, Inc., a golf course construction company. Carter's Tested Seeds, Inc. was also affiliated with the publication. R.O. Sinclaire was the editor. The publication was targeted to Green Committees and provided authoritative articles on maintaining turf and greens and designing and building golf courses.
