Lee Wybranski is an artist and graphic designer. His portfolio of work includes many of Tillinghast's finest courses.

BaltusrolGCFourth

Baltusrol Golf Club, Fourth Hole, Lower Course

Original Watercolor; approximately 7"x9"; Framed miniature prints 9"x11" also available.

Artist's Thoughts: "This painting was done for the 2005 Polo Invitational and many of the Met section's top pros and amateurs received framed copies. Polo Golf requested that I work with the famous 4th hole and this is my rendition of that renowned view across the pond and up to the clubhouse. It is always a pleasure when my work takes me to the storied venues of the game, and Baltusrol certainly qualifies. It was as much fun to tour the clubhouse as the golf course."

BCCBarn

"The Barn Hole" - original watercolor; approximately 7"x9"

Framed Miniature prints (9"x11") are also available.

Artist's Reflection: "I'm certainly not the first to say it, but one of the great attributes of Tillinghast's design style is its occasional audaciousness, and I've always found evidence of this in his placement of hazards directly in the fairway. There are at least 2 holes with cross bunkers at Five Farms and this is the first a player will run into: the famous Barn Hole. Special care was taken to emphasize the barn and I've always liked the late afternoon quality of the light in the painting."

HellsHalfAcre

Baltimore Country Club, "Hell's Half Acre" - study for a painting commissioned by golf professional Tony Pancake. The 6"x7" sketch frames out to 14"x15"

Artist's Reflection: "My aforementioned delight with cross bunkers was given free reign in this quick sketch. Great name, too - although I think it was used at Pine Valley first. I've always liked the immediacy of this study as compared with the refinement of the finished work. Also I think it looks interesting as it painted all the way to the edge of the paper. The piece is framed and matted with the edges exposed."

WingedFootClubhouse

Winged Foot Golf Club - Limited Edition, signed and numbered prints of this 16"x20" drawing are available framed in Museum quality materials.

Artist's Reflection: "What can I say? This piece is the reason I work in golf today. This was my first art commission in golf and one of the finest drawings I've ever done. People have told me they thought it could have been done in the Thirties and I agree. Pen and ink has a wonderful timeless look to it. I was just back at Winged Foot for the Open in 2006 and couldn't believe it was over 10 years since I first worked there. The golf course looked magnificent and impossible."

somersethillsrouting

Somerset Hills CC - Limited Edition, signed and numbered prints (18"x24") of this watercolor painting are available from the club.

Artist's Reflection: "This was my most prestigious project to date when the painting was completed in 1999. The club commissioned the artwork for their Centennial and it was a wonderful opportunity to get to know intimately one of Tillinghasts more ingenious masterpieces. This is one of the top 5 golf courses of the many we've worked with. There are epic holes like the famous Redan, and fun favorites like the quirky 5th. As everyone knows, this course is a great example of how Tillinghast got the best out of the available terrain."
